Located in the Steung Meanchey district of capital Phnom Penh, the municipal dump or 'garbage mountain' as it is referred to by the Khmer, is a place for sustaining livelihood for thousands of the poorest people in the city, many of which are children. As garbage is brought into the dump, groups surround the trucks to scavenge for anything of value, mainly recyclables.
